"As I got into the master bedroom, Corin directed me to the doorway to the right. This led to the master bathroom. From the doorway I noticed several syringes lying on the counter top. I noticed that the syringes were not capped, posing a hazard to anyone that got near them. Alongside the syringes I noticed a small clear plastic baggy containing a white powdery substance. Next to that I located a silver spoon. Inside the spoon I located small piece of cotton and a dried white powdery residue. I know through my training and experience as a law enforcement officer, subjects will commonly utilize the spoon and cotton as a method to prepare heroin or cocaine for injection. The subjects will then use a syringe, stick it in the cotton ball and extract the narcotic as it has soaked into the cotton. It should be noted that the syringes, narcotics paraphernalia and the powdery substance believed to be narcotics, were all within the reach of both children. I later noticed in the second bathroom of the residence, which was open and accessible to both children, the bathtub was partially filled up with water. This posed a potential drowning hazard to the children had they gotten into the water while the Defendant was disoriented."
